Two Field Decoder The EEG Model DI241AR is a broadcast quality Closed Caption Video Decoder capable of processing closed caption data in Line 21 of a digital NTSC signal. It decodes CAPTION, TEXT, or XDS information transmitted, using the Closed Caption waveform, in either field. The DI241A generates the appropriate display format and keys it into an analog conversion of the input video.
Remote Control Port The remote control function allows the user to change the decoder operation via a remotely located switch. Two options are available. One option allows the user to switch the decoded channel between CC1 and CC3. A second option allows the user to switch the decoder display on and off.
Limited Selection Mode This decoder also incorporates a front panel limited selection mode. When enabled the decoder channel selection is limited to CC1 and CC3 instead of stepping through all nine decoder channels.
Line 21 Activity Monitor In addition to its normal Decoding modes, the DI241AR also provides two Line 21 Activity display modes. The decoder can monitor the incoming video for activity in all data channels. The Activity status can be displayed on the Monitor outputs and/or on the front panel LEDS.
EIA/ANSI 608 Compatible The DI241AR conforms to the FCC display requirements of the Television Decoder Circuits Act of 1990 and includes the extended characters and attributes defined in the Recommended Practice For Line 21 Data Service, EIA/ANSI 608.
