The EEG UDI430 is designed to insert VBI signals, extracted from externally encoded analog composite or SDI video signals, into a master SDI video chain. Using this device, the number of serially connected SDI devices in a master video chain can be significantly reduced, providing higher reliability and signal integrity. The UDI430 also allows legacy analog VBI devices to be integrated seamlessly into the SDI signal chain.
The UDI430 can recover, process, and reinsert VBI data in lines 12 through 22 of either or both video fields. VBI lines for insertion into the master video are user selectable from any of the analog or SDI video inputs. The UDI430 provides automatic timing alignment between the analog and digital input video signals and the master video chain, eliminating the need for manual delay adjustments.
Some of the important features of the UDI430 SDI/Analog Inserter are:
- 4 re-clocked SDI input/output video pairs and 2 synchronous analog input/output video pairs for connecting external VBI devices
- Relay Bypass-protected master video chain, with second master video output for monitoring
- Automatic hot-swapping dual power supplies with independent inputs for primary and backup power sources eliminate power failure downtime
- Automatic VBI signal timing alignment equalizes device delays
- All configuration options accesible through front panel interface
- Analog monitor output with ON-screen status display
- Fast, easy firmware upgrades through front panel USB port
