Digital VBI Inserter - Model DI422

The Model DI422 Digital VBI Inserter is designed to insert VBI signals, derived from previously encoded composite analog signals, into a component digital signal. The DI422 processes the serial digital component signal and up to three analog signals simultaneously. The selected analog VBI information from lines 12 through 22, in both fields are converted into digital luminance signals which are then inserted into the VBI of the serial digital video output signals.

Digital Captioning

EEG's Model EN 470 Smart Encoder is available with D1 or D2 capability. In addition most EEG encoders are upgradable to digital operation using our digital add-on modules. However, when an internal upgrade is not feasible, the EEG Model DI422 can be used to convert analog captions into digital form and insert them into the digital signal.

Some of the important features of the DI422 are:

• Two digital 4:2:2 outputs.
  
• Out 1 by-pass protected for power failure.
  
• Three independent analog inputs.
  
• Processes up to 11 VBI lines for both fields simultaneously.
  
• Three synchronizing video outputs.
