DI470DTS Digital Smart Encoder - SD Closed Caption, XDS & URL Encoder w/ ATSC Closed Caption Server Interface

The Model DI470DTS SMART ENCODER is the ideal choice for implementing Standard and High Definition closed caption services. For Standard Definition video this encoder supports simultaneous insertion of two language captions into Line 21 of both fields. It also supports URL data for Interactive TV and XDS data for V-Chip. For High Definition encoding support it transcodes EIA-608 caption data into EIA-708 style caption services and bridges NTSC V-Chip and ITV Data for use by DTV to NTSC Down-Converters.

The DI470DTS is a digital version of EEG's industry standard analog Smart Encoder III. It utilizes the same command set and features. It has one SDI input and two SDI outputs, one of which is bypass protected. A dedicated serial data port supplies EIA-708 data to DTV encoders.

The DI470S has 3 serial Data Ports, one built in Modem and provision for a second internal Modem. The user may configure these Data ports according to operational needs. The serial ports can be configured for RS 232 or RS 422 operation.

The Digital Smart Encoder has many important features such as:
