Distribution of Realtime Network Messages Via Line 21 Data

The EEG Affiliate Communications System is a combination of hardware and a comprehensive software suite for creating and transmitting realtime network communication information on Line 21.

The Affiliate Communications System consists of three applications: the Message Editor, System Monitor and Encoder Controller. The three programs can reside on one PC or on separate machines linked through a network.

The Message Editor gives the Network user the ability to create and maintain messages for delivery to Network affiliate Stations in either, via Direct decoder addressing, Zone addressing or the Entire Network.

The System Monitor gives the user the ability to monitor the status of the Closed Caption/Affiliate Communications Encoders. The System Monitor reports connectivity status, closed caption routing (upstream/local) and Time Code status. The Encoder Controller program provides the link between the Message Editor, the System Monitor and the CC/ACS Encoder.

Affiliate Communications System Encoders automatically insert Network time code into the broadcast video path. Affiliate decoders extract and display this time code for local verification of station time and to time stamp incoming Affiliate messages.
