How to Upgrade
If you are upgrading from version 1.1.1 or greater, this will be a “software-only” update and should complete within several seconds. A power-cycle is not required for changes to take effect. However, if you are upgrading from version 1.1.0 or earlier, you must install the update through the USB instructions, and it may take significantly longer and automatically restart the unit when the update is complete.
Instructions (USB): Download the update file (eeg_upgrade.tar.bz2) to your local computer. Then copy the file to a USB thumb drive, and put the drive in the front panel USB slot on the DE285. Go to System Setup | Update on the DE285 front panel LCD and press OK when the name of the update is displayed.
Instructions (web-based): Download the most recent firmware update file from the EEG website or from the ‘Download DE285 Upgrade’ link in the Settings tab on the DE285 website and save it to a location on your computer. After downloading the firmware upgrade, navigate to the Settings tab on the DE285 website and click on the Browse button to the right of the File field, select the EEG firmware update and then click Submit to update the firmware.
