DE351 - version 1.2.5

What's New in Release 1.2.5 includes several helpful feature enhancements and an
important patch for a lockup problem that has been reported in certain video switching
environments.

Changes

  • OSD opacity settable from front panel
  • HD editor message types correctly decoded, displayed on web inbox
  • Adding message type info to body of automatic message emails
  • Email message timestamp daylight savings time correction
  • Cosmetic corrections to SMTP settings page on web site
  • Automatic email notifications now include unit serial number in "Message-ID" field in header.
  • Protected afcom buffer from very long HTML messages
  • Fixed lockup problems caused by a combination of: decoder crashes, afcom crashes, orphaned osd_writer processes, and blocking VANC socket writes.
  • Fixed issue where the NAS network clock display on the OSD was partially off screen when viewed on an SD output.

There are two ways to upgrade:

1. How to Upgrade
This is a complete upgrade and does not require the NAS decoder to be at a specific revision before applying this update. This update includes changes to low-level firmware components of the decoder. Please be aware that the update may take 20-30 minutes, and should only be applied using the front panel USB update mechanism. An externally connected alarm should be disconnected before proceeding with the upgrade.

2. Instructions (USB): Download the update file (eeg_upgrade.tar.bz2) to your local computer. Then copy the file to a USB flash drive, and put the drive in the front panel USB slot on the DE361. Go to System Setup | Update on the DE361 front panel LCD and press OK when the name of the update is displayed.

DE351 - version 1.2.3

NAS decoder v1.2.5
This is a complete upgrade and does not require the NAS decoder to be at a specific revision before applying this update.

    • New Features
      -Adds two larger text sizes for on-screen message display. On-screen text size is now selectable through the front panel LCD and on the web tools Font Settings tab.
      -Improved blending for foreground/background text colors. Sending of colored text will begin with the soon-to-be-released Enhanced HD Message Authoring software.
      -Improved error reporting for Test Email feature

    • Email test feature includes full logging of SMTP transaction if any error occurs
    • Adds "Print" button on decoder web page that creates a printer-friendly message display
    • Fixes bug in Email Notification Module that affected SMTP servers that require authentication
    • Email notification module now works correctly with Microsoft Exchange Servers
    • Shortens GPO alarm trigger pulse to 2 seconds from 5 seconds
    • Provides format validation of SMTP settings for server name, port number, and from address
